The consequences of not treating

The consequences of untreated disease affect the stomach. Appear erosion and peptic ulcers at its mucosa. The walls of the esophagus are injured and bleed. Breaks down the process of swallowing, in connection with the narrowing of the lumen of the esophagus. Formed pre-cancerous condition – Barrett's disease.
GERD is one of the most common chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. The disease occurs because of reflux of stomach contents and bile into the esophagus, resulting in damage of the mucosa. The reflux of gastric contents can affect other organs: the larynx, trachea and even the bronchi. Sometimes GERD results in serious complications, such as ulcers of the esophagus and narrowing of the esophagus, and in some cases can cause cancer.
